For the love of paisley

Silk shirt : Hawes & Curtis;  Jeans/Necklace : H&M; Bag : CBS;

This is what I wore today. It was absolutely sweltering so I rolled up the sleeves.

The Prince's Drawing School

Today I was invited to an exhibition of artwork by kids aged between 11 - 18 year olds. Dame Vivienne Westwood was the guest speaker and she talked briefly about learning to draw being fundamental to pursuing a career as an artist. Have a look at clip below. (please excuse my terrible filming, my arm was getting tired holding up my phone.)

Dame Vivienne Westwood at The Prince's Drawing School exhibition in Old Street.

The aim of The Prince's Drawing School is to raise the standard and profile of drawing through teaching and practice. It is one of only a few institutions offering in-depth, quality tuition for those who wish to develop their observational drawing skills

The Prince's Drawing School is part f the Prince's Charities, a group of not-for-profit organisations of which the Prince of Wales is President.

I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of works produced by the children. I managed to take a few pictures on my phone.

I love that these children's love of drawing is being nurtured.

Pick 'n' Mix

Coat : Warehouse; Bag : Dorothy Perkins

Just a slight variation on my last outfit post. We do sometimes forget that you can incorporate a coat/ jacket as part of an outfit or even give it that extra 'je ne sais quoi'.
This collarless coat is easily transformed by wearing my shirt collar over the neck line.

Also just a little tip: now that the weather is warming up this is a great time to stock up on winter coats as they will all go in the clearance sale.  Happy shopping!!

One man's trash is another man's treasure

Bag : £3;  Vintage Fur coat : £6;  Dress : £2; Necklace : Gift

It is soo true that saying above. Now I'm going to let you guys in on a lil' secret. (I'm addicted to shopping) No only joking, actually I think I might be you know. Anyway I digress.  What I was going to share with you is that if you didn't know already Car Boot Sales (CBS, as known in my family) are cool now. And you can find some seriously good stuff for a few pounds.  Be careful tho because you can end up buying things you don't need just because they are cheap. With a little imagination and a good eye you can pick up a few gems like I did a couple of weeks ago when I went to my local CBS.

Can you believe that fur coat was only six quid, I almost want it to get cold again (OMDz, did I really just think that out load? No bueno) so I can wear it out. It is a lil' big but I can work it. The dress was also a lil' big so I took it to my tailor and had him take it in. Now it fits like a glove.

What do you think? Have you found any bargains at Boot Sales or will you try one out if you have never been?
There! Now can we just keep that between us please. We don't want everyone there buying up all the good stuff.

Shoes glorious shoes

I received some great news last week so as I'm not much of a drinker I decided to celebrate by indulging in a spot of online shopping. And guess what I bought?

The first black ones with the steel pencil heel are from Missguided and the leopard print ones are from Garage Shoes. I can't wait to style them both. :p

Pastel Salsa

Skirt: Zara; Flats: Primark; Top: Gift from big sis

It was a little warm Saturday so I opted for pastels. I just love this Zara skirt. It has so much material within those pleats. The silk blouse  was a gift from my big sister, "Baby". (Don't ask me why she's called Baby? Long story) I paired it with the skirt because of the pleats in the front and also the pink compliments the blue.  Ideally if you are short, when wearing Midi skirts heels work better than flats as you need to elongate the legs. Midi's can make you look shorter and stumpy.

Hope you have a nice weekend ya'll. xx
